Girls fast pitch: The registration deadline for Lawrence 8U machine pitch, 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U girls fast pitch is April 1. Cost for 8U machine pitch is $65 per child; equipment will be provided. Cost for the other divisions is $900 per team, with a maximum of eight teams per league. Girls volleyball clinic: Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is enrolling for its spring girls volleyball clinic. The clinic is open to girls in fourth through eighth grades and will cover the fundamentals, skills and rules needed to better prepare them for school team competition. The clinic will run 9-10:45 a.m. for fourth through sixth grades and 11 a.m-1 p.m. for sixth through eighth grades.
