About $1,600 worth of prescription drugs painkillers were reported stolen this week from the Watkins Health Center on the Kansas University campus, according to campus police.

It was unclear exactly when the theft occurred, but at some point between 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Monday, someone entered the health center's pharmacy and took the drugs, valued at $1,621, said Jack Martin, a Kansas University spokesman.
Police continued to investigate Wednesday, and anyone with information is asked to call KU crime stoppers at 785-864-8888.
