Carolyn Davis scored 27 points on 9-for-12 field-goal shooting, leading the Kansas women’s basketball team to a 74-67 home victory over TCU on Tuesday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

KU upped its lead to 68-60 with 54 seconds left before a late TCU run. The Horned Frogs scored five straight points, and after a Natalie Ventress three, KU led just 68-65 with 35.7 seconds left.

After that, Monica Engelman, CeCe Harper and Markisha Hawkins all made both ends of one-and-one free-throw opportunities to seal the win for KU.

Davis’ 27 points tied for her second-most this season.

Engelman added 14 points, with 13 of those coming in the second half. Angel Goodrich, who had just two points on 1-for-12 shooting, added 12 assists.

It was the final regular-season home game for KU seniors Davis, Engelman and Goodrich.

KU (17-12, 8-10) will play TCU again at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament in Dallas, Texas. The Jayhawks will be the No. 7 seed.
