Lawrence Memorial Hospital calls for blood donors
Community Blood Center will be hosting a blood drive at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 325 Maine St., on July 5. Lawrence Memorial is in need of O, A and B negative blood, in particular.
The drive will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in conference rooms A and D. To make an appointment, go to esavealifenow.org and use the code “lawrencehosp.” Or, contact Lawrence Memorial at (785) 749-5800.
The donations will go to patients at local hospitals. Last year, 28,000 people in the area needed blood transfusions, and the Community Blood Center must collect 580 pints of blood per day to meet the increasing need.
