At 7:45 p.m., the flash flood warning for southwestern Douglas County, northern Franklin County and central Osage County expired.

At 4:46 p.m., the National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a flash flood warning for southwestern Douglas County, northern Franklin County and central Osage County until 7:45 p.m.

Weather spotters reported flash flooding from a thunderstorm over the warned area and Doppler radar shows warned areas have received one to three inches of rain in about an hour. Affected areas include I-35 between mile markers 177 and 196.

At 4:32 p.m., the National Weather Service’s warning for Douglas County expired. The storm has moved out of the warned area, however gusty winds and heavy rain are possible.

The severe thunderstorm warning continues to apply to west central Franklin County.

As of 4:07 p.m., the thunderstorm was located about six miles west of Centropolis and moving south at 15 mph, with golf ball sized hail.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southwestern Douglas County and northwestern Franklin County until 4:30 p.m.

AccuWeather’s radar is tracking a cluster of storms moving southeast and east at 10 mph. NWS warns these storms are producing quarter size hail, 60 mph winds and heavy rain.

NWS warns that people outside should move to shelter away from windows and prepare for damage from hail and winds.
