How to Help: Theatre Lawrence looking for ushers, box office managers

Theatre Lawrence is seeking Show Time volunteers to serve as ushers, box office managers and refreshment servers at The Cove, the bar inside the newly opened community theater building. Volunteer training will be provided at the following training “parties” at the theater, at 4660 Bauer Farm Drive, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today through Wednesday. Attendance at one of the three sessions is required. Volunteers serving in The Cove must be 21 years of age or older and registered with the state Alcoholic Beverage Control. Immediate needs

• Ten Thousand Villages-Lawrence is a nonprofit, volunteer-operated, fair trade retailer of artisan products from about 40 developing countries around the world. Volunteers are needed to work as sales associates and in the stockroom at the store downtown, at 835 Massachusetts St. A minimum time commitment of two four-hour shifts per month is required. • This year’s Sunflower State Games will be held in Topeka on July 12-14, 19-21 and 26-28. Volunteers are an important key to the success of the Olympic-style games, performing a variety of tasks including athlete check-in, event timing, score keeping and traffic control.
