Free State softball’s Rogers named to all-star team

Free State High senior shortstop A’Liyah Rogers will play for Kansas against Missouri in the MO-KAN Softball All-Star Series on Monday.

The best-of-three series begins at 5 p.m. at the Shawnee Mission School District Softball Complex, in Shawnee.

Area players Sophia Templin and Hunter Klamm, of Class 4A state champion De Soto, and Kelli Spring, of 5A runner-up Mill Valley, also have been selected to represent the Sunflower State.

De Soto head coach Junelle Woolery will serve as an assistant for the Kansas all-stars.
