Mommy bloggers to visit Lawrence for best-selling book reading event

Area mommy bloggers Stacey Warner Hatton and Jen Mann will appear at an upcoming reading for the best-selling book they contributed to, “I Just Want to Pee Alone.”

Hatton, a Lawrence native, started documenting comical daily parenting stories on her blog, “Nurse Mommy Laughs” at nursemommylaughs.com. Her essay, “Elite Grocery Store Moms Club,” is one of about three dozen featured in the book, which she describes as “guaranteed to make readers laugh, cry, wince, gasp, and thank God that at least we have each other.”

Hatton attended high school in Lawrence and received her bachelor’s degree in theater and film from Kansas University. She pursued nursing but eventually decided to stay home with her children. After living on the east coast, she and her husband have since moved to the Kansas City area, where she blogs and writes for several publications.

Hatton will be joined by fellow “I Just Want to Pee Alone” contributor Mann — a Kansas City-area resident who blogs as Jen Fisher at peopleiwanttopunchinthethroat.com.

The book reading, planned by the Lawrence Public Library as part of a Mom’s Night Out event, is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pachamama’s, 800 New Hampshire St.
