Letter: DCF cuts
To the editor:
I was pleased to see that state officials are finally looking at new office space for the Department for Children and Families. The current building is in very poor condition and does not satisfy the needs of either clients or staff.
However, I was amused by Theresa Freed’s comment that DCF officials would like to put all the operations in one building. Perhaps she is not aware that one of the current buildings has been sitting empty for years or that the number of positions has been gradually transferred to other offices. Adding the privatization of child support services, and I don’t believe a single building should be a problem.
