Raiders split games at Fourth of July tourney

? Ryan Cantrell threw a complete-game victory and the Lawrence Raiders split a doubleheader at a Fourth of July weekend tournament in Salina.

The Raiders defeated the Topeka Golden Giants, 7-1 in their first game of the four-day tourney. Cantrell (2-0) allowed just five hits, while Shane Willoughby went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double.

Lawrence lost, 7-1 to Columbus (Neb.), in its second game Thursday. Adam Rea (2-3) picked up the loss.

The Raiders (15-9-1) play the Wichita Aces at 1:30 p.m. today.
