Veritas boys rip Heritage

? Elijah Harvey scored 13 points and made five steals, and Thomas Bachert had 12 points and 13 rebounds to help Veritas Christian’s boys basketball team defeat Topeka Heritage, 63-42, on Tuesday night.

Andrew Currier added 13 points and Caleb Holland scored 12 for the Eagles.

“It was a real good team victory,” Veritas coach Gary Hammer said. “We’re playing pretty good ball right now.”

Veritas trailed 12-9 after one quarter but outscored Heritage 17-5 in the second quarter for a 26-17 halftime lead.

Veritas (12-3) will travel to Wichita for a pair of tames this weekend. The Eagles will play at Wichita WAHAA on Friday and at Wichita Northfield on Saturday.
