Ex-Jayhawk Zach Peters enrolls at Collin College

Former Kansas University basketball forward Zach Peters, who left KU after first-semester final exams following a series of concussions, has enrolled at Collin College in Texas, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The 6-foot-9 former Prestonwood Christian standout (Plano, Texas) is not playing basketball.

“The doctors say it is too risky now,” said Peters, who, according to the Morning News, passed a concussion test last week after four failed efforts. “It will take time.”

Peters told the paper he suffered a concussion at the LeBron James camp during high school, then on the football field during the first game of his senior season.

He suffered two concussions in practice sessions at KU. He also later took a shot to the head that was not deemed a concussion.

Peters’ dad, Tim, told the Morning News his family has no problem with the treatment of his son’s concussions at Kansas.

Several weeks ago he gave the same comment to the Journal-World.
