Wellsville Bonner Springs High’s girls basketball team clamped down on defense in the fourth quarter, earning a come-from-behind victory, 41-40, over Baldwin on Saturday in the championship game of the Wellsville Top Gun Tournament.
Baldwin (11-3) led most of the game and had a 36-28 edge at the start of the fourth-quarter.
Bonner Springs outscored Baldwin 12-2 at the start of the final period and took the lead for good on freshman Julianne Jackson’s two free throws with 44 seconds to play.
