A scheduling mix-up led to the cancellation of Tuesday's Lawrence High girls basketball road game, and though the Lions thought they found a home game to replace it, that won't happen either.

Lions coach Nick Wood said his team won’t make the trip to Kansas City, Kan., Schlagle Tuesday as originally planned due to a snafu that became apparent within the past couple of days.

Initially, it appeared as though LHS (1-6) had found another program to fill the suddenly open date on its schedule. The Lions announced Monday afternoon they would play host to Topeka West Tuesday night.

As it turns out, that game won't be played — at least not on Tuesday. Wood received word from Topeka West officials Monday evening that the school didn't have transportation available.

As of now, the game between Lawrence and Topeka West will be rescheduled and played at a not yet determined date.
