Eudora baseball, softball: The Eudora Amateur Baseball and Softball Association has begun its 2013 registration period. Trail Hawks race: The Lawrence Trail Hawks will host the third-annual “Pi Day” half-marathon and 5K at 8 a.m., March 10, on the Kansas River trail system. The Pi-Day River Rotation Half Marathon Trail Race begins and ends by the Kansas River Trails trailhead, just off Eight and Oak streets in North Lawrence. The race course is a winding, twisting, mostly smooth trail with a few roots and inclines sprinkled in. The half-marathon is a three-loop course, alternating between two approximately counter-clockwise loops and one clockwise. The 5K runners will race one 3.1-mile loop. Girls fast pitch: The registration deadline for Lawrence 8U machine pitch, 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U girls fast pitch is April 1. Cost for 8U machine pitch is $65 per child; equipment will be provided. A coaches meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., April 18 at Holcom Park Rec Center. Scholarships are available at the Community Building 115 W. 11th Street by March 25. Cost for the other divisions is $900 per team, with a maximum of eight teams per league. There is a nonrefundable deposit of $100 to secure a spot in the league, with the remainder due at the coaches meeting at 6:30 p.m., April 16 at Holcom Park Rec center. The registration deadline is March 8, but register by Feb. 27 and receive a discount on your registration fee. Girls volleyball clinic: Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is accepting enrollment for its spring girls volleyball clinic. The clinic is open to girls in fourth through eighth grades and will cover the fundamentals, skills and rules needed to better prepare them for school team competition. The clinic will run 9 to 10:45 a.m. for girls in fourth through sixth grades, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for girls in sixth through eighth grades. The clinic will be held three consecutive Saturdays, beginning April 20 through May 4. All sessions will take place at East Lawrence Recreation Center (1245 E. 15th St.). The cost is $50 per participant, which includes a clinic t-shirt. The registration deadline is April 15.
