Lawrence Home Show to begin Friday afternoon

The Lawrence Home Builders Association is hosting its annual Lawrence Home Show this weekend at Crown Toyota Pavilion, 3430 S. Iowa St.

The focus of the show is on home products, services and trends.

“You don’t have to have a project in mind,” said Bobbie Flory, executive director of Lawrence Home Builders Association. “This is a great opportunity to come and just get some ideas.”

LHBA launched the home show about 10 years ago in a smaller location with fewer booths.

“They’ve come a long way,” Flory said. “It’s not simply a tabletop trade show. Vendors build landscape areas, they build structures. outdoor patio areas; they really have evolved how they display their products.”

This year’s show features more than 65 vendors, including cabinetry companies, roofers, appliances, landscapers, heat and airing companies, window covering companies and other home improvement and decorating businesses. There are even banks who are participating as vendors at the show.

“They’re the ones who really make our dreams come true,” Flory said. “We get the ideas but sometimes we need some assistance.”

The show runs from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $5 for adults, and there is no admission fee for children.
