Police arrest Lawrence woman following alleged stabbing of Eudora man

A 44-year-old Eudora man is being treated at a Kansas City-area hospital for a stab wound after an alleged altercation with a Lawrence woman.

Lawrence police arrested Virginia June Goff, 43, at 2:44 a.m. Friday at the Brookwood Mobile Home Park in the 1900 block of East 19th Street after what was described to them as a domestic violence incident, according to Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence Police Department spokesman. Goff was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery.

McKinley said the man, whose identity has not yet been released, had left the scene and called police by cellphone. Journal-World news partner Operation 100 reported that the man said his ex-girlfriend stabbed him at her Lawrence home, and he then drove himself to his home in Eudora. Medics reported the man’s injury, a laceration to the left side of his chest, as critical.
