Second-half run lifts Veritas girls over Midland Adventist

December 13, 2013

— Tori Huslig scored 19 points and made three steals, and Macie Dressler pulled down 12 rebounds as Veritas Christian’s girls basketball team defeated Midland Adventist, 44-32, on Thursday night.

Veritas led by just two points, 19-17, at halftime but outscored Midland Adventist 16-6 in the third quarter to put the game away.

“I thought defensively we stuck with our game plan really well,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said. “We made a real nice run right after half, and it was keyed by our defensive pressure.”

Hannah Gloss added eight points for Veritas, and Ashley Boland had seven rebounds.

The Eagles (3-2) will play Saturday against Topeka Heritage in Eudora.
