Kansas Public Radio is hosting its fifth annual Big Band Christmas Concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Hall.

Holiday music will be performed by 17-piece Kansas City Jazz Orchestra and vocalist Ron Gutierrez. KCJO is directed by Kansas native and trumpeter Clint Ashlock for the 2013-14 concert season.

KPR encourages guests to bring in nonperishable food items to the concert, and they will donate all items to Just Food. Recommended healthy food items include, but are not limited to, whole-wheat grains, low-sodium vegetables and canned fruit in their own sugars.

Tickets are $20, and can be purchased at the Liberty Hall box office. The doors will open at 7 p.m., and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis at tables set up on the lower level. There will be additional seating in the balcony.
