KU swimmers set records at Winter Nationals, win at dual

? Kansas University swimmers Alison Lusk and Chelsie Miller broke school records on Saturday at the USA Winter Nationals.

Lusk placed 19th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.46. She broke her own record of 2:14.57.

Miller’s finished 18th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:58.58. Miller’s time qualified her for the NCAA Championships in March.

Kansas’ Bryce Hinde (31st place, 200 breast) and Yulduz “Yulya” Kuchkarova (38th, 200 back) also swam at Nationals on Saturday.

The rest of the KU swimming and diving team competed against William Jewell in a dual meet in Lawrence.

Placing first for KU in the dual were: Lindsay Manning (1,000 free), Alison Merecka (200 free), Gretchen Pocisk (100 breast), Malia Johnson (200 fly), Morgan Sharp (50 free), Haley Molden (100 free), Sammie Schurig (200 back) and Alison Moffit (200 IM).
