Israeli dancer and choreographer Talia Beck will bring her talents to Kansas University this fall through a residency enabled by the Schusterman Visiting Israeli Artists Program.

Beck will teach dance, speak about her own experiences and the dynamic dance culture in Israel and choreograph a dance with students that will be performed at the end of the semester. Beck has worked for years with one of Israel’s most celebrated dance companies, Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak Dance Company, setting their dances on companies around the world as well as creating new work.

The Schusterman program brings Israeli artists including filmmakers, choreographers, musicians, writers and visual artists to universities and other cultural organizations in North America. Goals are exposing a broader audience to contemporary Israeli culture by fostering interaction between the artists and the communities in which they are based.

Beck is one of 10 visiting artists who will be in residencies throughout the country as part of this year’s program.
