Aquahawks openings: The Lawrence Aquahawks will be hosting new swimmer tryouts at the Alvamar Pool located at Bishop Seabury Academy from 6-8:30 p.m. Aug. 16 and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 17. Reaney at U.S. Open: Lawrence native Emma Reaney, a two-time 2013 NCAA All-American and 2013 Big East Swimmer of the Year for Notre Dame, swam at the U.S. Open last week. She finished second in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:26.65), third in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.56), fourth in the 200 IM (2:14.01), eighth in the 200 butterfly (2:14.15), and 12th in the 100 butterfly (1:00.35).
