Lake Quivira ? Free State’s Alex Green shot a 74 to earn a fourth-place tie at the Shawnee Mission Northwest Golf Invitational on Monday at Lake Quivira Golf Club.

Free State’s Wilson Hack tied for 14th at 81, and Max Soto tied for 20th with an 83 as the Firebirds shot a 323 as a team, good for a tie for second with SM Northwest.

SM East leads the team race with 292.

Lawrence High was in 10th with a 352.

Cole Cummins and Brad Strauss paced the Lions with 86s, which tied them for 30th.

The meet also serves as the first portion of the Sunflower League meet.

In those standings, Green is tied for third, Hack 12th and Soto 18th.

Strauss and Cummins are tied for 25th in the league standings.

Also Monday, Free State’s Austin Kastl shot an 89, Nick Hay a 92 and Colton Steele a 96 to lead the Firebirds at the Manhattan Invitational.

Free State placed 11th of 13 teams at that invite.
