Topeka ? Gavin Fischer and Grace Morgan placed second in their respective races as the Lawrence High girls cross country team finished as the runner-up on Saturday at the Seaman Invitational.

Morgan, who ran the 4K in 15:00, Claire Sanner (fourth place, 15:26) and Emily McEntire (15:56) paced the Lions girls varsity to a score of 72. Olathe East won the meet with 36 points.

Fischer, with his time of 17:05 in the 5K, was the only Lion in the boys varsity race to finish in the top 10. John Mwithiga placed 16th in 17:35 as LHS finished in sixth place out of nine teams.

The Lions compete again on Saturday at the Shawnee Mission West Invitational.
