TV movie so bad it’s scary

The border between horror and farce is porous. No one knows this better than Robert Englund, better known as Freddy Krueger of the “Nightmare on Elm Street” films. He stars in the thoroughly predictable and ridiculous sequel “Lake Placid: The Final Chapter” (8 p.m. Saturday, Syfy).

If movies about bodies of water filled with mutant crocodiles that chomp up nubile teenage bodies are your cup of tea, don’t miss this. The movie’s most absurd and redeeming feature is Yancy Butler’s spirited job of overacting. She’s Reba, a hyper-angry croc-killer with a penchant for angry one-liners.

• Brian Unger hosts the second season of “How the States Got Their Shapes” (9 p.m. Saturday, H2), an offbeat and anecdotal approach to state histories. H2 is the History Channel spinoff network that still broadcasts the light historical series displaced by more ratings-driven fare like “Pawn Stars.”
