Seabury volleyball splits two at Cair Paravel

? Bishop Seabury Academy’s volleyball team split a pair of matches Thursday night, falling to host Cair Paravel, 25-14, 25-12, and defeating Heritage Christian, 25-21, 25-20.

The Seahawks were led by Taylor Hodge with six aces and 15 digs, Ellen Almanza with four aces, Courtney Hoag with eight kills and nine digs; Meghan McClorey with 10 assists and Sarah McDermott with 17 digs.

“We were without two starting seniors tonight and struggled across the board in our first match,” Seabury coach Chrissy Leuty said. “But the girls came out fired up in the second match and really dug in defensively. It was good to see them bounce back after a tough defeat and go after Heritage. Our girls have a lot of fight in them, a lot of heart.”

Seabury (12-6) will play Monday at Kansas City Lutheran.
