Congressional, legislative candidates set to appear at forum in Eudora on Sunday

A candidate forum featuring congressional and legislative candidates will be held Sunday in Eudora.

The event is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Eudora Middle Schools, 2635 Church St.

Candidates will introduce themselves and take questions determined by a panel from the Eudora Chamber of Commerce and Eudorareporter.com. There will also be time for citizens to ask questions of the candidates.

At 1:30 p.m., U.S. Rep. Lynn Jenkins, R-Topeka, and Democratic candidate Tobias Schlingensiepen of Topeka will appear. The two are vying for the 2nd Congressional District.

At 2:30 p.m., state Sen. Tom Holland, D-Baldwin City, and state Rep. Anthony Brown, R-Eudora, will speak. They face off in the 3rd Senate District race.

At 3:30 p.m. Kansas House candidates, state Rep. Connie O’Brien, R-Tonganoxie, and Democrat Harold Fevurly Jr. of Leavenworth will speak.
