Ottawa police allege businesses served alcohol to minors

Following repeated complaints about some Ottawa bars, restaurants and liquor stores serving alcohol to minors, the Ottawa Police Department and the Kansas Alcohol Beverage Control conducted an alcohol operation Wednesday at several establishments, according to a news release issued by police Capt. Adam Weingartner.

Citations for serving minors were issued to servers at these Ottawa businesses:

• The Sandbar, 1604 S. Main St.

• Brandy Wine, 1605 S. Main St.

• Blue Sky Liquor, 1410 S. Main St.

• Pizza Time, 208 S. Main St.

“I want these businesses to know that the department takes these complaints seriously and we will continue to conduct spot checks for violations,” Weingartner said in the release.
