Free State volleyball loses first games of season

— Free State High’s volleyball team lost for the first time this season, going 0-4 Saturday at the Mo-Kan Invitational.

Free State fell to Lafayette/Ballwin, 25-10, 25-11; Ozark (Mo.), 25-19, 18-25, 25-18; Overland Park St. Thomas Aquinas, 25-21, 25-18; and Blue Springs South, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17.

FSHS entered the tournament with a 5-0 record but dropped to 5-4.

The Firebirds will next play Tuesday at Topeka Seaman.
