October 14, 2012

— Elijah Harvey ran for two touchdowns and passed for another, and Veritas defeated Cair Paravel, 44-6, on Saturday night in a high school football game called with 6:56 left in the third quarter due to lightning.

Holland also scored on a 49-yard run, and Veritas had touchdown runs of 10 yards by Andrew Harvey and two yards by Alex Lynch.

Veritas led 22-0 after one quarter and 44-0 at halftime.

“Our guys continued to come out fired up and ready to play,” Veritas coach Doug Bennett said. “They’re executing the assignments and the game plan. We’re low on numbers, but we’re very excited about our group of guys. They’re very committed, and it’s showing week after week. They keep improving.”

Andrew Harvey rushed for 88 yards on six carries, and Lynch gained 46 yards on seven carries. Lynch also made seven tackles, including two for a loss, and Bryce Boland had seven tackles, including one for a loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.
