Las Cruces, N.M. The Kansas University women’s golf team took the lead after the second round in the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Intercollegiate on Tuesday, and freshman Yupaporn Kawinpakorn shot a 1-under 71 to maintain the individual lead.
Kawinpakorn is atop the 76-golfer field with a two-round 4-under 140, recording four birdies on Tuesday, two of which came on the final three holes of the round. Kawinpakorn followed up a 69 on Monday.
Junior Thanuttra Boonraksasat and senior Audrey Yowell each shot even-par 72, while junior Meghan Potee recorded a two-over 74, and sophomore Gabby DiMarco carded a 76.
Kansas entered the day in second place, four strokes behind leader Idaho. KU shot a team season-low for 18 holes with a 1-over 289 on Tuesday, which was five strokes better than its previous season low. KU is three shots ahead of second-place Colorado State.
Boonraksasat recorded seven birdies on Tuesday and is tied for 20th individually. Potee is tied for 11th after scoring three birdies on Tuesday.
