A 53-year-old Lawrence man was sentenced Tuesday to two years on probation for threatening a man with a knife on Aug. 14 in downtown Lawrence.

Prosecutors allege James Michael Campbell used a knife to threaten a 22-year-old Leawood man about 2:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street. Campbell pleaded guilty to aggravated assault Aug. 29 as part of an agreement with prosecutors.

Campbell received credit for 56 days he spent in jail awaiting sentencing.
