Lawrence man identified as fatality victim in Wednesday vehicle accident
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has identified a Lawrence man who died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday evening as Charles L. Read, 56.
Read was killed when his 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the road and ran head-on into a tree near the intersection of County Road 1061 and North 900 Road, south of Eudora.
Read was dead when emergency crews arrived and was the only occupant in the vehicle. A sheriff’s office spokesman said it’s not clear if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
