A former top-100 golfer in the Class of 2011 will join the Kansas University women’s golf team in the spring semester, KU coach Erin O’Neil announced Monday.

Minami Levonowich, Golfweek’s No. 69 player in the 2011 class, signed a Grant in Aid to transfer from Kennesaw State. Levonowich will be a sophomore.

“We made a lot of progress this fall, and Minami will help make the solid team that we have right now even stronger,” O’Neil said.

The Jayhawks begin their spring schedule on Feb. 15 in Tallahassee, Fla.
