More than 1,200 lose power overnight in Lawrence

More than 1,200 Westar Energy customers lost power early Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of 23rd and Massachusetts streets, according to Operation100 News, the Journal-World’s news partner.

Nick Bundy, a Westar Energy spokesman, said 1,270 customers lost power at 3:47 a.m. By 5:30, power had been restored to all but 13 customers. And by 6 a.m., power was restored to everyone affected, he said.
