KU soccer camps: Kansas University will hold several youth soccer camps this summer. A Weekicks Camp for boys and girls in grades K-5 will run 9-11:30 a.m. June 11-15. A Day Camp for boys and girls grades 5-8 will run 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 11-15. Girls Residential and Team Camps run July 13-16 and July 17-20 for girls in grades 4-12. Aquahawks openings: The Lawrence Aquahawks swimming team is always accepting new members. The Aquahawks are a year-round USA Swimming-sponsored competitive swim team. The Aquahawks offer a swim lesson program and competitive swim team for all ages. The Aquahawks are coached by professional coaches with weekly practices geared toward a variety of skill levels. FUNdamental Softball: Learn the proper mechanics and techniques to playing softball. Youth football camp: The Lawrence/Free State youth football camp will be Monday, June 25 through Wednesday, June 27 at Lawrence High School. The camp is for children in third through eighth grades. Lyme Disease 5K: The second-annual Hope for Healing Lyme Disease 5K run and walk will be at 6 p.m., June 16, at the Lawrence Rotary Arboretum, south of the intersection of Wakarusa Drive and Kansas Highway 10. Blastball: Blastball, an entry-level sport that teaches baseball and softball fundamentals, will be offered by the Lawrence Parks & Recreation Department this summer for boys and girls ages 4-5. A parent is required to participate with his/her child during instruction time. Blastball will take place indoors at East Lawrence Recreation Center. LHS scholarship golf tourney: The 13th Annual Lawrence Lions Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Tournament is at 8 a.m., June 16 at Alvamar Golf Course. Entry fee is $75 per golfer and includes golf, cart, prizes, and lunch. The tournament is NOT limited to LHS Alumni. Southwest volleyball, basketball camps: Southwest Middle School volleyball and basketball camps will be held May 29- June 1. Lawrence Swim School: The Lawrence Swim School is accepting registrations for 2012 summer swimming lessons to be held June and July at KU’s Robinson Natatorium. Jayhawk baseball camps: The Little League Day Camp for ages 5-12 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on June 11-14 at Hoglund Ballpark. The Super Skills Camp for ages 9-12 will be June 28 (1-5 p.m.) and June 29-July 1 (9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Hoglund Ballpark. Lunch will be provided for three days. LHS tennis summer workouts: The Lawrence High tennis team will have summer workouts for any players eligible to play for LHS in the 2012-13 school year. Mountain biking: Two Lawrence residents placed in a 50-mile Syllamo’s Revenge mountain bike race last weekend in Arkansas. Aaron Elwell won the race with a course record of 4 hours, 18 minutes. Jason Knight took third in 4 hours, 31 minutes.

Clark hole-in-one: Marissa Clark fired a hole-in-one Sunday at Lawrence Country Club in her first-ever 18-hole round. She used an 8-iron to ace the 105-yard No. 17 hole. Witnesses were her husband, John Clark, and her son, Trevor Clark.

Evans hole-in-one: Bill Evans posted a hole-in-one Tuesday at Alvamar. He used a 7-iron from the white tees on the 130-yard No. 12 hole. Witnesses were Norm Slade and Ed Carter.

Horseshoe results: Wynne Mihura took first place in the champion class of the Wynne Mihura Open on Saturday at Broken Arrow Park in Lawrence. Ken Martin of Baldwin was second, while Dave Matheson of Iola was third. Steve Schumann of Kansas City, Kan., won the B class event, with Adam Jones of Lawrence taking second and Larry Collette of Wamego placing third.

Benefit golf: The Kansas Athletics Golf Classic supporting Douglas County Special Olympics will be held at 1 p.m. on June 22 at Alvamar. Entry fee of $150.00 ($140.00 if paid by June 8) goodie bags, lunch and dinner banque and silent auction as well as finishing prizes. Marden fast half: Kate Marden, a 1999 graduate of Lawrence High, competed in the Marine Corps Historic Half-Marathon May 20 in Fredericksburg, Va. She finished second among 2,892 women finishers with a time of 1:26:44. She also finished 39th among all 6,002 finishers.
