Overland Park Lawrence High’s baseball team yielded a bases-loaded single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh and fell to Shawnee Mission North, 2-1, on Wednesday night.
“Nobody likes to get left on the field,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said.
Jake Vinoverski singled home Erick Mayo in the sixth to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. But North responded with single runs in the bottom of the sixth and the seventh.
The Lions (10-8) will play Free State at 5:30 p.m. Monday at LHS.
