A 22-year-old Lawrence woman was arrested for DUI Tuesday night after she was accused of striking a parked vehicle in the 2000 block of Vermont Street.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a Lawrence police spokesman, said an officer at 11:45 p.m. stopped her 2003 Pontiac Vibe in the 1100 block of Massachusetts Street after he noticed damage to the vehicle. Police determined she was involved in the accident earlier on Vermont Street, and the woman, Fattin Jeffrey Lang, told the officer she had been texting when the collision occurred.

According to jail records, Fattin posted $800 bond and was given notice to appear in municipal court. McKinley said she was arrested for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, texting while driving and failing to report an accident. No injuries were reported.
