Lions’ swimmers win home meet

Lawrence High’s girls swim team won the LHS Invitational on Tuesday at Carl Knox Natatorium.

The Lions totaled 503 points to 476 for second-place Shawnee Mission West. SM Northwest was third with 435, followed by SM North with 429, K.C. Ward/Piper with 187 and Lansing with 160.

Miranda Rohn, Gretchen Frick, Heather Cistola and Annie Odrowski combined to win the 200 medley relay, and Rohn, Odrowski, Chandler McElhaney and Cistola won the 200 freestyle relay for the Lions.

Cistole and Rohn finished 1-2 in the 200 freestyle, Odrowski won the 200 individual medley and took second in the 100 backstroke, Sarah Smoot and Nicole Oblon were 2-3 in the 50 freestyle, Rohn placed second in the 100 butterfly, Cistole and Smoot were 1-2 in the 100 freestyle, and Gretchen Frick won the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
