UNC confirms that point guard Kendall Marshall will not play Sunday against KU

North Carolina head coach Roy Williams laughs with injured guard Kendall Marshall during a day of press conferences and practices at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.

North Carolina starting point guard Kendall Marshall will not play against Kansas and also will not be in uniform, UNC officials confirmed about an hour before Sunday’s game.

Marshall, who fractured his right wrist in UNC’s third round NCAA Tournament game against Creighton, when through practice on Saturday for the first time since the injury. After practice, UNC coach Roy Williams had said he’d be a gametime decision.

Marshall’s being out means that UNC freshman Stilman White will be UNC’s starting point guard. The freshman White has played just 168 minutes this season.
