Series stars Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin spend a night in “lockdown” on “Ghost Adventures” (8 p.m., Travel Channel). This week takes them to Bisbee, Ariz., where they will explore stories of unexplained sightings and screams with “some of the most respected experts in the paranormal field.” As respected as you can get when masquerading as a scientist while celebrating the superstitious.

Speaking of superstitions, the History Channel’s H2 network offers up yet another whopper with “Ancient Aliens” (9 p.m.) titled “Aliens and Bigfoot”!

Over on the so-called Science Channel, “Alien Encounter” (7 p.m.,) offers a speculative look at visitors from space. At least Gene Roddenberry, the focus of “Trek Nation” (8 p.m., Science), had the honesty to call his work science fiction.

The National Geographic Channel invites viewers to spend three hours inside insular religious communities. “The Devil’s Playground” (7 p.m.,) looks at the Amish practice of encouraging 16-year-olds to live in the outside world before deciding to devote their lives to adhering to the strictures of the faith. Later, “Amish: Out of the Order” (8 p.m.) visits with young people who have left the Amish community.

The new documentary “Only for God: Inside Hasidism” (9 p.m., National Geographic) takes viewers inside another small sect guided by very definite rules about religious devotion, clothing, behavior and submission — particularly for women. While the Amish practice a particular form of German Christianity frozen somewhere in the 19th century, Hasidic communities date back several hundred years to Eastern European Jews who sought to reinvigorate the faith with a daily commitment to bridging the gap between the material and the spiritual, the human and the divine.

• The guys dish about each other and discuss behind- the-camera intrigue on “Gold Rush” (8 p.m., Discovery). The same filler can be found on a “Bering Sea Gold” (9 p.m., Discovery) installment called “After the Dredge 1.”
