KU baseball beats Houston Baptist, 3-2

? Kansas University starting pitcher Thomas Taylor allowed just one run over 7 2/3 innings to help KU beat Houston Baptist, 3-2, in the final game of the Irish Baseball Classic on Sunday.

Taylor (2-2) walked none and struck out four as KU improved to 9-10. Houston Baptist fell to 5-14.

Tanner Poppe earned his third save of the season after allowing the other run over 1 1/3 innings, with no walks and a strikeout.

Jake Marasco, Chris Manship and Jordan Dreiling each had two of KU’s 10 hits. Dreiling also scored a run.

The Jayhawks will host Southern Utah at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
