An employee at the Howard Johnson hotel, 2222 W. Sixth St., reported to police Sunday that $1,925 worth of items, including a $900 Hewlett-Packard 15-inch laptop were stolen from a 24-year-old Lawrence woman and a 29-year-old Eudora woman. The theft from a room at the hotel occurred between 11 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Saturday, according to a police report.
