Lifetime returns to its “woman in peril” formula with the over-the-top drama “Fugitive at 17” (7 p.m. Saturday). Marie Avgeropoulos (“50/50”) plays spunky teenage hacker Holly Hamilton. She’s pert, pretty and can cobble together a super-laptop from spare parts and hack into any institution’s mainframe. It’s just too bad that her pal, Blake (Cindel Chartrand), drags her to an illegal rave. On a school night, no less.

You don’t need to be an expert in Lifetime movies to know that nothing good can come of this. Blond Blake catches the eye of a pervy party promoter (Casper Van Dien). Instead of rejecting his advances (or noticing the fact that he’s old enough to be her dad), she falls hard for him. Particularly after he slips her a date-rape drug.

Blake has a bad reaction to the drug and dies on the spot. Holly tries to save her but is savaged and drugged by Blake’s killer. She’s later arrested for being underage at the scene of an illegal party and crime, shipped off to jail, then sprung in a violent jail break (perpetrated on behalf of some genuinely bad teens). She becomes a fugitive from justice and then tries to find the creep who killed her friend, all while trying to stay in touch with her beloved bedridden grandmother. Holly’s hacking skills loom large in this harrowing tale, which is so far-fetched it often crosses into high camp.

Just two weeks ago, Van Dien’s “Starship Troopers” co-star, Denise Richards, played a teen’s worried mom in Lifetime’s “Blue Lagoon” remake. Van Dien, her contemporary, still gets to play the guy who appeals to teenagers. Where’s the justice in that?
