Lawrence police said another aggravated burglary occurred early Sunday in which a man entered a home while residents were sleeping.

Police warned residents last week to make sure their doors were locked and garage doors were closed after handling several dozen reports of similar burglaries in the last three months.

Sgt. Trent McKinley, a police spokesman, said the latest incident was reported at 5:25 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Illinois Street.

The victim awoke to see a man in the living room using some type of light to look around the room. The victim screamed, and the suspect ran out of the house. Nothing was stolen. McKinley said it appeared the residents accidentally left the front door unlocked.
