Pachamama’s chef Ken Baker will be preparing an outdoor farm-to-table dinner this weekend, to be served in the peach fields at Gieringers Orchard.
Feast in the Fields is planned for 6 p.m. until twilight Saturday at the orchard, 39675 W. 183rd St. in Edgerton.
Peach cobbler caps the tentative four-course menu. Free State beer (Lawrence) or wine from BlueJacket Crossing Vineyard and Winery (Eudora) and White Tail Run Winery (Edgerton) will be served with each course.
Melanie Gieringer, who owns the orchard with her husband, Frank, said their hope for the inaugural event was to create a nice evening out where people can taste of what their family experiences every day.
“A lot of people don’t realize where their food’s coming from, and how much better it is fresh,” she said.
