LifeStar air ambulance called to one-vehicle injury accident north of Vinland

A 30-year-old Baldwin City man was injured early Saturday morning after he was involved in a one-vehicle rollover accident between Lawrence and Baldwin City.

At about 2:50 a.m., Ryan David Forker was driving southbound on the 800 block of 1650 Road, when his vehicle crossed the center line, became airborne, and hit some trees, said Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Steve Lewis.

Officials worked for about 15 minutes to free Forker from his vehicle, and a LifeStar air ambulance flew him to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.

The accident site is north of Vinland and south of Cedar Hill Gun Club. Forker’s vehicle carried no other passengers. His condition was not immediately available.
