KU recruiting budget tops Big 12

Kansas University’s athletic department had the Big 12’s biggest overall recruiting budget for men’s sports during the 2010-11 school year, according to businessofcollegesports.com.

KU spent $1,033,618 in recruiting student-athletes for its men’s teams in 2010-11. It averaged out to $206,723.60 per team and $3,731.47 per athlete.

Baylor spent $755,226; Iowa State $769,272; Kansas State $648,599; Missouri $621,949; Oklahoma $837,890; Oklahoma State $482,596; Texas $989,370; Texas A&M $555,563; Texas Tech $892,436.

The Big 12 school which spent the most on recruiting female student-athletes in 2010-11 was Texas.

Texas spent $481,019.00 in recruitment expenses for its women’s sports teams. KU spent $410,536 for an average of $46,726.22 per team or $1,465.28 per athlete. Baylor spent $383,720; ISU $252,744; KSU $234,303; MU $239,910; OU $425,677; OSU $197,527; Texas A&M $300,225; Texas Tech $292,363.
