Former governor and Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty to speak at the Dole Institute

A former Minnesota governor and former Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to speak at the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics next month.

“An Evening With Tim Pawlenty” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Dole Institute, 2350 Petefish Drive. Bill Lacy, director of the institute, will interview the former governor to get his take on presidential politics and the nation’s big problems.

Pawlenty, a Republican, was governor of Minnesota from 2003 until January 2011. He announced his presidential campaign in May 2011, and dropped out of the presidential race in August after taking third place in an Iowa straw poll.

Pawlenty’s daughter, Anna Pawlenty, enrolled as a freshman at Kansas University last fall.
