Convicted rapist gets 67 years for attacks

KANSAS CITY, KAN. — A man convicted of rape in Missouri has been ordered to spend 67 years in prison for sexually attacking two women in June of last year in the Rosedale area of Kansas City, Kan.

The sentence was imposed Friday against 40-year-old Nicholas D. Martin in Wyandotte County. He was convicted of five counts of rape, three counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of aggravated burglary and one count of theft.

The Kansas City Star reported that police received dozens of tips after they released a composite sketch of the alleged rapist.

Martin also was convicted in Missouri in 1990 on charges of burglary and rape.
